What is cold rolling?
Rolling is a fabricating process in which metal is passed through a pair of rolls. Rolling has 2 main classifications. Flat rolling, in which the product is typically a sheet, or profile rolling, in which the product is typically a rod or bar. Rolling is also classified according to the recrystallization temperature of the metal.
Cold roll forming machine is a sequential configuration of the multi-channel molding rolls, the coil, strip and other metal strip continuous transverse bending, to make a specific section of the plastic processing technology machinery.
The difference between hot-rolling and cold rolling:
1. The partial buckling of cold-formed steel allows for the full use of the buckling load of the rod, while hot-rolled steel does not allow for partial buckling.
2. the reasons for the residual stress of hot-rolled steel and cold-rolled steel are different, and the section distribution is also very big difference. The residual stress distribution of cold-formed thin-walled steel section is in bending state, and the residual stress distribution of hot section steel or welded section is film type.
3. The free torsional stiffness of hot-rolled section steel is higher than that of cold-rolled section steel, so the torsional performance of hot-rolled section steel is better than that of cold-rolled section steel.
